Life Sciences Academy or
LSA, is an organization committed to the excellence of proteomics
research, skills development and discovery of potential human
/ animal therapeutics within the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
To date, LSA and the Forest
Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), have jointly created and setup the
FRIM-LSA Center for Proteomics Research at the Timber Technology Center
facility in Kuala Lumpur. The facility, a spacious research hub, spanning
over 10,000 square feet, focuses in the building of Malaysia's premier
forest biodiversity
databank
which will contain over a billion bioactive compounds in the next couple of
years and which will supply scientists, locally and globally, the
infrastructure to
upgrade
and enhance their research in the fields of proteomics and drug discovery.
Besides our efforts in proteomics research,
LSA also provides professional skills development, for the biologist,
chemist and anyone who wants to pursue the area of biotechnology and
pharmaceuticals, curriculum and content recognized by leading industry
organizations like Nobel prize winner Shimadzu Biotech, Proteome Systems
Ltd, Sepiatec GmBh and Accelrys. A combination of classroom, hands-on,
taught or research base program are offered towards an industry recognized
certification in the area of proteomics.
